Business segments tpyically outsourced include information technology, human resourecs, facilities and real estate maangement, and accounting. Consequently, a debate has ensued concerning the benefits and costs of the practice as well as how to cateogrize it as a hpenomenon. To be consistent, outsourcing, in a corporate context, represenst an organizational practice that involves the transfer of an organizational funtcion to a third party. For example, many individuals do not mkae their own food.
